Shock! in Hungarian

WELCOME!

This is a "sampler" of Shock! - the biggest Hungarian rock and metal webzine.

The 'zine is in Hungarian, so these pages are to provide the basic info on our activities. There are samples of our interviews, album, concert and demo reviews, to let you taste our style. Of course we won't translate each and every articles we have, because we focus on the local audience.

You can find all of the concert and other photos that we are making, because pictures don't need to be translated. :-)

Also, if you click on "about us" link, you can read the basic info on the recent members.

A little bit of Shock! History:

Shock! was formed from the union of a few local fanzines in the beginning of 1998. It started as a "normal" printed magazine (see a few covers). We were the first to release free CD compilations with the mags, containing songs of local bands - beginners and professionals too.

Later we have moved towards the Internet, because the domestic rock and metal audience prefers fresh news, interactivity, and other advantages given by the web. So we decided to stop publishing printed magazines and focus on the webzine.

As we see, nearly all of the Hungarian rock-metal fans who have web access are reading our webzine. Also, we have many readers worldwide, of course mainly Hungarians away from home.

We have stable contacts to the major concert organizer and promoter companies, record labels and distros. We are getting promotion materials from all over the world, not only from labels: sometimes the musicians send their albums themselves. Our colleagues are travelling to the bigger international festivals and events to write reviews and interviews. We are also making personal, phone and e-mail interviews with the major participants of the music scene.

Our goal is to continue supporting the domestic rock and metal fans with news, info, reviews and other things related to music, exploring new talents and being a reliable and entertaining part of the lives of the Hungarian music lovers.
